Embracing Childhood Dreams
From the tender age of 4, my heart was set on becoming a doctor. I was passionate about healing others because I felt it was a noble pursuit to have a positive impact on lives (and it’s the ultimate super power!). However, my curiosity extended beyond the constraints of traditional medicine; it fixated on preventive measures and the holistic practices. For this reason, I delayed applying to medical school for years, until I could no longer ignore my desire to help people.
The Toll of Medical Education
Entering medical school was a dream realized, but the relentless pace, competition, and hierarchical structure triggered a cascade of challenges that I had not anticipated. The pressure to learn vast amounts of information at an unforgiving pace, coupled with the stress of medical education, led me down a path of severe anxiety. The toll on my well-being was profound, resulting in episodes where I struggled to breathe, concentrate, and articulate thoughts coherently. This ordeal took a toll on my learning and plunged me into a significant bout of depression, accompanied by physical ailments like Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS).
Personal Transformation Amidst Professional Pursuits
I continued working towards my goal of becoming a physician despite all the clues, emotional distress being a major one, that suggested I wasn’t doing what I had set out to do. By the grace of God, I became a Family Medicine doctor. And in the midst of these challenges, I embraced major life changes. I got married and welcomed a son during my residency, which added a new dimension to my personal journey. Balancing the responsibilities of family life with the demands of medical training brought both joy and additional complexity to my path. Out of necessity, I developed strategies that would enable me to strike the right balance between work and life.
Mission and Vision
My mission is to empower professionals to reclaim control over their time, fostering a harmonious balance between work and personal life. I am dedicated to guiding individuals on a journey towards well-being, ensuring that they navigate the path to max productivity while maintaining their physical and mental health.
